The Spice Islands Mandalay Queen Headboard gives the head of your bed a relaxed, tropical-retreat feel. This rattan queen headboard pairs a gently shaped top rail with panels of split rattan and banana bark rope, a fiber people across Asia have long twisted into rope, all built around a frame of select hardwoods.
It's sized to sit behind a queen mattress, at 66.25" wide and 55.5" tall, so it becomes the focal point of the room without crowding it. The matching Mandalay 6 Drawer Dresser carries the same weave across the room. Need more width? The Mandalay King Headboard has the same look.
The panels are woven from split rattan and banana bark rope, laid on the diagonal so the two fibers play off each other. Banana bark rope is a working fiber, the same one twisted into everyday rope across Asia, and here it sits alongside smooth split rattan for a layered texture.
At each side, several rattan poles are bound tightly together to form the posts, so the texture carries all the way down to the floor. Wrapped caps finish the tops. Across the middle of the panel, a row of upright rattan reeds breaks up the diagonal weave and gives the eye somewhere to rest.
Underneath the weave is an inner frame of select hardwoods, which gives the headboard its structure. At 66.25" wide it spans a standard queen mattress with a few inches to spare on each side, and at 55.5" tall it stands well above the pillows.

Rattan Queen Headboard Care & Maintenance
A rattan headboard only asks for a little regular attention. Dust it with a soft microfiber cloth, especially along the shaped top rail where dust likes to settle, and run a soft-bristle brush attachment through the weave now and then. If something spills, wipe it with a barely damp cloth and a bit of mild soap, never soaking the fibers, then let it dry completely. Keep it out of humid spots and strong direct sun, and when you move it, lift it clear of the floor rather than sliding it on its legs.
